![]() ![]() The mid-game and building strategies around your cards was a side of the game I have never really taken advantage of before, despite playing the game probably dozens of times throughout the years. King of Tokyo - First time playing this game with all adults. We won, but each of their mechanics would have been better understood if we had built up to them. Don't play your first game with the 2 most difficult monsters lol. ![]() First was a mislabeled token (says Police Station - needed to say Sherrif Station) and a clue with the Jersey Devil that simply didn't work (you need to play a mini game of "Guess Who?" and the 3 clues didn't match any of the characters- found out it is the only combination of clues to cause the issues and it was just terrible luck of the draw). Horrified: American Monsters - started with the 2 most difficult monsters and found 2 flaws in the game. Lots of great characters to play as, and Spot is one of the villains! I cannot wait for the Spidergeddon set to hit retail in the coming months. We watched the latest Into the Spiderverse movie, so everyone wanted to play all the Spiderman characters. Marvel United - This is a classic in my home at this point. My daughter will be taking the game to band camp this summer because it is simple to teach/play and it actually plays better the more you have. My grandparents had this since the 1960's, so I have been playing it my entire life. One of those games where the adults at the table add it to their Amazon lists when we're done playing. Wordless alliances were made and subsequently broken in sudden and shocking ways. It is always funny to see people try and play nice at the start but then become merciless, coldblooded killers by the end. Survive! Escape Atlantis - Absolute bloodbath as usual. We're talking about setting up a permeant group for the summer to play through Legacy Season 1. Pandemic - We had some super difficult games, including one where we lost in 4 rounds. I wrote up a detailed review in the Marvel Zombies thread. Marvel Zombies - This was almost an entire day on its own. Initial learning curve made the game seem a bit fiddly, but by the second round things ran smoothly. X-Men: Mutant Insurrection (based on the Elder Signs ruleset) - I want to play this more. All the teens took over for a few times while we played video games We had a rotating cast of people, ranging from age 12-50. We had a friend visiting from out of town and we put in 3 excellent days of board gaming as part of his visit. ![]()
